OH, HAPPY DAY (part 2)

(Read Part 1 first!)

Unaware to me, this trip was not justtt because Laina did so well at her appointments, or justtt because it was a beautiful day — although both good reasons.  But it was also to get me out of Waupun.

On the way home, Derek texted me and asked me to stop by on our way back.  It was already kind of late, so he said “just run in quick! :)” so I could see him.  So after pit stop at the Narances, we were on route to the De Young household!  My family dropped me off, and I made my way to the front door.

The moment I opened the door, I knew.  Music started playing.  I saw a pathway of lights guiding me through to the back door.  And I realized what was happening.  This was it.  I walked slowly, wanting to soak up every second (and, of course, to avoid a colossal face plant).  The pathway of candles continued through the back yard, until I turned the corner and looked up….and there was my guy, waiting for me.

After seeing him, I took off.  I finally made it to him.  And there under that tree, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!

IT WAS PERFECTION.

A fairytale that collided with a romance movie that hit square into a Nicholas Spark book while passing through the land of Pinterest…was happening…to ME!

It was absolutely beautiful, breath-taking in every way.  The man I love waiting for me in the most picturesque scene!

We soaked it in, and made our way up to his house.  Both of our families were there to congratulate and celebrate with us.

***Pictures with the sisters will come soon!

The day was completely wonderful…one I’ll never forget. We are SO happy!

P.S:  I cried the whole way to work the next morning…ha!  I just couldn’t believe what had happened the night before…it was like a dream!  Thank the Lord for a beautiful night and for my man!

XOXO
